News about Singapore Pets

Sponsors - a better Home for Pets

Life to get better at Animal Shelter - Straits Times dated 4th Oct 2004.
My heartiest congratulation to Ms Cathy Strong and the volunteers at the Animal Lovers League. It is a joy to hear that Pedigree Pet Foods has generously donated $20,000/- cash and $10,000 worth of food to Animal Lovers League. Others have also chipped in and one contracter that did the electrical work for free. We cannot imagine how the life of the strays will be without the tremendous effort and sacrifice by the people of the Animal Lovers League. For all the animals welfare organisations, we pray that they will raise more funds in order to meet the objective in making a better home for the abondoned and stray animals.

Pet Adoption Drive -Some gone to good homes

It's paw up from AVA for adoption in Bishan Park - Straits Times dated 18th Oct 2004.  It is a good sign that the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) is working together with the various animal welfare organizations towards the same direction, in the drive to promote adoption for the homeless pets.  It is win-win situation for all. Pet lovers can do good deeds by adopting these abondoned and defenceless animals, and at the same time help the animal welfare organizations to relieve some costs. AVA can take this opportunity to rebuild their image, which was badly tainted during the SARS episode.

NANAS's - the animal sanctuary originated as NOAH'S ARK LODGE Private Animal Shelter in Singapore in 1995 and is now located in the town of Pekan Nanas Johor. The mission is to provide an old folks' age home for strays and ageing animals. It all started with Mr Raymund Wee poured body and soul into his work for the strays. He sold off his shophouse and with the S$1.5 million dollars, transformed NOAH'S ARK into one of the foremost private animal shelters in Singapore and so on....
